Apache Tomcat community is seeking for AJP protocol replacement and we think SPDY protocol would be a good candidate for server to server, proxy to server and client to server communication.

Generic introduction to SPDY protocol can be found at:

We are seeking for features similar to mod_spdy
https://code.google.com/p/mod-spdy/

The future development would need Next Protocol Negotiation (NPN) extension for TLS support but for now a standard protocol would be sufficient.
