Using multiple threads mismatches Responses to HTTP Requests

Summary: Using multiple threads mismatches Responses to HTTP
                    Requests
           Product: JMeter
           Version: 1.8.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Blocker
          Priority: Other
         Component: HTTP
        AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: orlanr@objectconsulting.com.au

Using JMeter with a Thread Group with more than one thread causes about 4% of
HTTP Requests to receive the wrong response. That is, one request receives a
response that should have been returned to another request.

For example, page1.jsp is requested by one thread at the same time as page2.jsp
is requested by another, and page1.jsp is returned to both HTTP requests.

The HTTP requests were being made to a WebSphere Commerce Server application,
running on WebSphere Application Server 4.0.3 on Solaris 9.0, via an iPlanet
Web Server (Enterprise Edition 6.0). The JMeter Thread Group was using a HTTP
Cookie Manager to store a cookie with a JSESSIONID to maintain session state
for the application.

This same problem was found when running JMeter on two seperate machines with
just one thread each. And again when running one JMeter thread on one machine
and a Web Browser (Internet Explorer 5.0) on another machine. However, this
could not be repeated via browser only testing, even with multiple concurrent
browser requests.
