[Uwe Knauer] use of image tag

Hello!

I use the image tag with embedded graphics data.

<image x="73.0" y="25.0" width="153.0" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="data:image/[gif|jpg|png];base64, [B@146e3 ...."/>

That works for JPEG and PNG, but not for GIF. I just wondered because "soft" links handle GIF. We encode the byte stream from the file as
Base64 and place it directly it the xlink:href attribute as shown above. The Adobe plugin can handle Base64-encoded GIF.
<image xlink:href="file://C:/.../image.gif"> works fine but is not what we want.

For me it looks like that use of GIF is not (fully) supported. Any ideas, maybe we should use a differt encoding?

Thank you
Uwe
