[drlvm][jit][jet] Stack trace points to the line where the exception was created instead of where it was thrown
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HARMONY-2372
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HARMONY-2372
Project: Harmony
Issue Type: Bug
Components: DRLVM
Environment: IA32, WinXP
Reporter: Mikhail Markov
The following test prints the following StackTrace when running on DRLVM with 'jet' (the same with 'opt' except line 14 which seems to be inlined):
Uncaught exception in main:
java.lang.RuntimeException
at Test.test(Test.java:14)
at Test.main(Test.java:3)
On RI or DRLVM with interpreter the stack is the following:
Uncaught exception in main:
java.lang.RuntimeException
at Test.test(Test.java:14)
at Test.main(Test.java:6)
-------------- Test.java -------------------
public class Test {
public static void main(final String[] args) throws Exception {
RuntimeException re1 = null;
try {
test();
} catch (RuntimeException re) {
re1 = re;
}
throw re1;
}
public static void test() {
throw new RuntimeException();
}
}

Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
The same resolution as for duplicating HARMONY-2614 - could not reproduce (lines numbers are correct).

Oh, yes, I missed the difference in the line number. Agreed.

Mikhail Markov commented on HARMONY-2372:
-----------------------------------------
I agree that OPT part of this bug looks equal to HARMONY-2114 (with inlining method).
BUT, problem with JET exists separately (the stack trace is as mentioned above and not the same as for OPT).
So I don't think this issue could be closed for now.

Egor Pasko commented on HARMONY-2372:
-------------------------------------
1. Is the bug against JET or against OPT?
2. the same behavior is described in HARMONY-2114 in more detail
3. IMHO, this issue can be closed
4. thank you :)
