asf-site branches
Time to kill svn publishing?
Asf now supports asf-site branches for GitHub.io style site publishing!

So, pretty much the same as svnpub, but with git. Makes sense.

Let's try... I believe we'd also need to ask INFRA (me thinks) to set us with
git publishing. Would you volunteer to figure our and try? Worst case
scenario our website will be down for a bit. Although it might make sense to
wait with pushing until after 1.0 is out...

i think its just that you push the static files to a branch, and then voila
thats all you have to worry about.
!!!!!!!!I THINK!!!!!!!
shall i test this and see? ok if i push some files to a asf-git branch to
play around?

Would it be rendered similarly to what we have now or need to do the site
re-formatting or using github as our official website? 'cause as much as I
like github - which isn't that much ;) - Apache project websites should be
hosted on the Apache infrastructure, not at the 3rd party premises.
If this is just about removing extra variable do pushing website content via
snvpub - I'd be in favor, in general

I'd be +1 since the svn publishing is not that intuitive which me took lots
of time to figure it out.
