[jira] [Commented] (FLINK-15974) Support to use the Python UDF
directly in the Python Table API

Timo Walther commented on FLINK-15974:
--------------------------------------
[~dian.fu] I think it would make sense to synchronize the Python Table API efforts with the Java one. The expression DSL described in FLIP-55 should also be available in Python. There is a voting going on right now. So it is very likely that it can make it into 1.11.

> Currently, a Python UDF has been registered before using in Python Table API, e.g.
> {code}
> t_env.register_function("inc", inc)
> table.select("inc(id)") \
> .insert_into("sink")
> {code}
> It would be great if we could support to use Python UDF directly in the Python Table API, e.g.
> {code}
> table.select(inc("id")) \
> .insert_into("sink")
> {code}
