[axis2] organizing a 2nd face-to-face meeting

Axis2 is on a path to do a milestone release soon. While we've made
good progress, its time to have another detailed architectural
session to evaluate where we are to plan the rest of the path to
v1.0 of Axis2.

Lanka Software Foundation would like to host this F2F in Colombo,
Sri Lanka. The currently proposed dates are March 28-30th. We
would like to invite all interested parties to attend!

We will work on detailed logistics and agenda as the date becomes
a bit closer.

Please drop a note if you may be interested in attending; it'll be
good to get a rough idea of attendance soon!

Sanjiva.

Re: [axis2] organizing a 2nd face-to-face meeting - DATES: March 29th to 31st (inclusive)

Posted by Sanjiva Weerawarana <sa...@opensource.lk>.
Hi Guys,

Given there were no negative votes, let's move this to March 29th to
31st. We'll start a wiki page to start designing the agenda etc..

In terms of logistics, we will also put stuff on a Wiki page. If you're
coming *please* don't just buy a ticket from some random travel agent
without asking for suggestions here .. there are straightforward and
inexpensive ways to travel to Sri Lanka from anywhere; you just have
to know a bit! (Many average, esp. US, travel agents won't know what
the right route combos are.)

If you've never been to Sri Lanka before please consider staying
a few extra days and travelling a bit. Contrary to what the news may
indicate, our country is not ravaged by the tsunami .. only parts of
the coast is! If you can stomach it would be worth travelling south a
bit to see some of the damage .. its a different sense from what
you see on TV. In fact, visiting and spending some money on the local
tourism industry is a great way to help the country!

If you need any help on the local side, please contact Caryll Sela,
the LSF Secretary. Her email address is caryll@opensource.lk.

Looking forward to seeing you here soon!

Sanjiva.

Hi Glen,

> Who of the non-SLF crew is actually thinking they might attend this?

Dims said yes. Ias I haven't heard from. Tom is in Bangalore these
days and can't make it back to the neighborhood (and I couldn't sqeeze
a day out of him to pop down here). Geoffrey Fox / Indiana Univ. is
coming, most likely with one of his students .. not sure whether that's
Alek or someone else. Guillaume / ObjectWeb said he wants to come.
SteveL was not able to come. Greg/IBM is a maybe but he needs this
shifted by a day. Sam / Globus said he can't make it.

OK.

Excellent idea!

Now, about my note - can you guys who've agreed to make it still do it
if we shift it by one day?

Sanjiva.

Who of the non-SLF crew is actually thinking they might attend this?
Dims? Ias? Venkat? Tom? Alek? Others?

I'm likely there, but still need to finalize things.

Can we plan for this one to be more of a "hackathon" where we actually
work on the code as well as talk and design?

If it causes problems I'd rather keep it (and I'll try to
