It may be enough to have pretty printing (using prefixes, using native types), and leave the more complicated output shaping to external tools.

Addendum: "native types" causes loss of datatype details.

Collapsing all derived type to integer may be acceptable but xsd:double become xsd:decimal which is more problematic because they are different categories in XSD arithmetic.
