jmeter 1.7.1
I've created a new download directory called "unstable". I'm trying to develop a release
procedure that takes into account the total lack of real testing that JMeter gets. So, here's my
plan:
I've made a new release directory called "unstable". Into here, I will create distributions on a
more frequent basis. Those brave souls who try these releases will, hopefully, give feedback
as to their quality and their bugs. If things go well, some of these releases will perform
acceptably, and I'll upgrade them to the real release directory, with an update to their version.
Version numbers of unstable builds will increase from the last release in the following fashion:
release version 1.7
unstable releases: 1.7.1, 1.7.2, 1.7.3, ...., 1.7.11, 1.7.12, etc.
The first unstable release that we find acceptable will be promoted to 1.8, and rebuilt and
released as such. I am also tagging the CVS files at every release so it can be rebuilt for this
purpose.
I've just made the unstable release 1.7.1. Please try it out. Frankly, for me, it works much
better than 1.7 - though I don't test https sites, so that may be a weak area. Another potential
weak area is loading your 1.7 test scripts. For the most part, they should load OK. But, you'll
need to examine your scripts for correctness, and possibly recreate some wayward elements
that were re-created incorrectly. Please report any errors, and I will address the problem in
the code.
Thanks for your patience. I'll wait a day or two to make sure there aren't any glaring
problems, and then I'll announce to the user list.
