[Subversion] Update a new version of Subversion

Hi everybody

I installed an old version of Subversion (1.3.2). I run well. Now I want
to change to 1.4.4 version. What do I ?

Have got any method except remove and reinstall?

Please give me something about this.

Right, if upgrading changes the BDB version in an incompatible way, you need 
to dump/reload the repository. I think that BDB otherwise comes with some 
tools that can perform the upgrade in place, but I'm not 100% sure.

But if you're using BDB for your back-end, don't you need a dump/load
cycle to do this safely?

Typically, I would ask my package manager to upgrade the installation. Under 
Debian and many other OSS systems that is the way to go.

Basically, no, although you can install several versions in parallel - but you 
probably don't want that and the confusion that ensues. No, simply removing 
and installing a newer version should be the way to go.
