[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-9021) Enforce configured SASL method on the server

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-9021?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13494434#comment-13494434 ]

Robert Joseph Evans commented on HADOOP-9021:
---------------------------------------------

My only real issue with this is that if no secret manager is passed in, and only TOKEN is passed in you get an error of "Server is not configured to accept any authentication". I would prefer to see at a minimum before that a Warning that TOKEN was configured and no Secret manager was passed in. But preferably a better error saying A Server configured with Token must have a Secret manager to go with it.

> The RPC needs to restrict itself to only using the configured SASL method.
