Key: CLOUDSTACK-5513
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-5513
Project: CloudStack
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
Components: VMware
Affects Versions: 4.2.0
Environment: CloudStack 4.2 + vmware 5.1
Reporter: Denis Finko
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 4.3.0
Hello,
I have found issue in our environment CloudStack 4.2 + vmware 5.1 which was described in https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-3234
That issue is still present and not fixed.
How to reproduce this issue:
- Create VM in CloudStack
- Select that VM in CloudStack and click to 'Take VM snapshot'
- Try to reboot VM (you will be succeed with this and VM will be started)
- if you 'Stop' VM from CloudStack UI
- and then 'Start' VM
You will see error in VMware:
- Invalid configuration for device '0'
- Cannot remove virtual disk from the virtual machine because it or one of its parent disks is part of a snapshot of the virtual machine.
And this issue in CS UI:
Unable to create a deployment for VM[User|vm-test]
If we remove created snapshot from CS. VM can start.
