OOo site favicon
Why is the favicon for http://www.openoffice.org/ using a Kenai favicon?

href="/branding/kenai/images/favicon.ico" />

rather than an OOo (or if you prefer an AOOo) favicon?

Yes, an ugly and improper icon for the OOo project.
Has someone the power to change this?

Because that is what Oracle's also abandoned Kenai is serving. There might be someone who can control that but it is not us. Unless they appear and do it.
That said when we migrate to www.openoffice.org I have already confirmed that we will have the correct favicon!
Please be patient. Take the icon being corrected as likely the moment that www.openoffice.org is moved to ASF infrastructure.

Dave

I have the OOo favicon that this guy refers to ready to go for
www.openoffice.org.

If the Branding team once it assembles wants to do otherwise then no troubles,
it's all in svn.

Because most content for the openoffice.org domain is still being hosted
on Oracle-owned servers to which the Apache OOo PPMC has limited access
to change content. Oracle has legally agreed to transfer the domain
names and a number of brand elements, but the actual technical details
of transferring the domain name hosting are still being worked out.
Once the primary websites there are hosted on ASF servers, we will of
course be using Apache branding for the favicon, along with a wide
variety of other branding changes to reflect OOo's new Apache heritage.

P.S. Hmmm, does anyone have plans for an AOOo favicon, or does the PPMC
just want to use the feather to start with?

I think you've missed the point. Yes I do know about the kenai project,
and yes I know the history regarding OOo/Oracle/kenai. I'll not try to
explain those here.
My question was/is:
"Why is the favicon for http://www.openoffice.org/ using a Kenai favicon?"
I'll expand on that:
Why is the favicon for http://www.openoffice.org/ using a Kenai favicon
rather than an official OOo/AOOo favicon?
