Issues with archetypes

*I am having a two issues I need help with please.*

1. I created an internal archiva repo, and want our users to jsut go through
this as a mirror. But now I started getting issues with maven plugins not
being found, or no version was specified.

2. I am trying to create an remote archetype catelog for my new users to get
access to. I looked at
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-archetype-plugin/specification/archetype-catalog.htmlbut
it is not clear to me how to create the remote version via the deploy
to
get it into my remote repo in #1
