Write strings with text formatting.

I want to be able to write superscripts and do other things like bold and italicization. I know i can some of those things by changing the font and size manually, but is there a simpler way?

basically, is there an easy method where i can format the text and have pdfbox write to it like a string?

If you want to use PDFBox, no. Maybe you should have a look at Apache FOP [1]
