This works as expected:

## @noparams

#set ($n = 5)
#set ($m = $n+1)
<p>$m</p>
{noformat}

Output: {{<p>6</p>}}

However, subtraction doesn't work:
{noformat}
## @noparams

#set ($n = 5)
#set ($m = $n-1)
<p>$m</p>
{noformat}

Output: {{<p>$m</p>}}
