I started this ticket to discuss future improvements on logging.
The first thing I would like to suggest is that, pig needs more comprehensive logs. If there is a debug mode, when pig could print extensive detailed log, that would be very helpful.

We have re-worked logging with Pig 0.6.0. Please, re-open with more details if what we now have does not satisfy your needs
