### Bug description
Hi Superset folks,
The issue is titular so here I'll provide the evidence instead :D
The solution is to release new version for npm module `@superset-ui/chart-controls` to support newly upgraded React 17

Oh, interesting. I'll try to publish that.
I think @msyavuz and @geido are looking at making the jump to 18. We can publish all of these modules then, too.

If I recall correctly, this issue was due to `generator-superset` package failed to work properly due to `chart-control`'s React constraint. But now, with `generator-superset` soon to be superseded with better alternatives, we can close this off.

Hi @hainenber — checking in on this one since it's been a while. Since this issue was filed, `@superset-ui/chart-controls` has moved to being developed as a local workspace package within the Superset monorepo. For users working directly with the monorepo this is a non-issue, but we wanted to check: is there still a need for a standalone published npm package of `@superset-ui/chart-controls` for use outside the monorepo? If so, it would be helpful to understand the use case. If this is no longer needed, we can close the issue. Thanks\!
