I've reverted all direct commits in branches/1.1.x, and re-merge
changes from trunk into branches/1.1.x. Hope I'm doing right thing
this time. :)

Sorry, that was a direct branch commit. And same several previous
commits too. I'll read the new section in TRANSLATING about
maintenance a branch and do the right thing.
