compiling xerces on hpux 10.20

Hello,

I'm having trouble compiling xcerces on a hpux 10.20 machine . 
I'm using softbench  5.2 as compile and build environment with aCC a
compiler.

When trying to make the xerces , make always complains about the "ifeq"
statement.
Is this error message related to the make of the softbench suite ??

Did anybody else had this problem and solved it nicely without removing al
the ifeq  statements ??
