I can't display Japanese rightly
Hi, everyone
I install cocoon 1.8 with JDK 1.2.2,RedHat Linux 6.0, apache 1.3.14, tomcat
3.1 and datebase postgres 6.5.3.
I use ESQL TagLib and can get data in the database. The English code can be
displayed very well but the Japanese text can't be displayed rightly.
I have add the following words in cocoon.properties file:
formatter.text/html.encoding = EUC_JP
and I also modify XML and XSL files just like below:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="EUC_JP"?>
Who know how to work with Janpanese code?
regards
ma xu

Hi.
My cocoon works fine with Shift JIS encoding. I'm using the Cocoon 1.8
release, Tomcat 3.1, JDK1.1.8 on FreeBSD 4.1.
I have added new formatter 'text/html/loose/jp' instead of changing the
default encoding of 'text/html(/loose),' then forced to call this formatter
from every xml file by adding <?cocoon-format type="text/html/loose/jp"?>.
If you are using XSP, I guess you need an encoding attribute in <xsp:page> tag.
For example:
<xsp:page language="java" encoding="Shift_JIS"
xmlns:xsp="http://www.apache.org/1999/XSP/Core">
