Compiling Actions
Hi, I have a little question regarding actions.
I write an action (An have a .java file), then I compile it, and then ?
Where do I have to put the .class file to make it work ? I tried
WEB-INF/classes
and it didn't work.
Does my class has to belong to the org.apache.cocoon.acting package ? Do I
have to put it into cocoon.jar ?
Thanks a lot

The class has to be in the classpath. If you have a .class file that is
in the "com.mycom.action" package, then the file needs to be in the classes
directory like this:
WEB-INF/classes/com/mycom/action/MyAction.class
If it has no package, then it needs to be in the classes directory like this:
WEB-INF/classes/MyAction.class
If your Servlet Engine isn't loading that class into the classloader, then
that is a separate issue altogether.

Ok, I'm using tomcat b3. I'll download the b5 version, try again and let you
know. Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I'm currently also looking into actions and have similar problems (I
posted yesterday to this list, well cocoon-dev, but it never
appeared). However, it looks like tomcat 4.0-b5 behaves better than
4.0-b3 e.g. there're no more ClassNotFound exceptions anymore. (This
is true also for subsitemaps).
Chris.

Hi !
Yes, I did, and it didn't work.
I tried a little more and discover a few things:
I started to try using the sample HelloAction
If I use it on the main sitemat, it works ok, but if I use it on my sub
sitemay it doesn't. Is it a known issue ?
Thanks a lot
