Question about the link to the RDP / VNC connection

How does guacamole derive the link to connect to the rdp / vnc connection?  I have a database of various clients and I want to automate the .xml entry into guacamole properties file as well as take what will be the url to the session and put that into my database.  Hope that I am making sense here.
