In order to make OSGi dependency information available during maven build, Tyhco needs a way to participate in how Maven reads and resolves project dependencies. Maven 2.1 almost provides this capabilities, except for unfortunate "private" modifier. Attached is a trivial patch that allows subclasses override relevant methods.

Unless you actually want those methods overridden (have a particular use case in mind?), they should be marked as final.
