Installation Wizard Interrupted
Hallo zusammen,
Ich hatte den Apache 1.3 auf einem Windows XP System installiert. Da ich
den Apache 2.x testen wollte, habe ich den 1.3 deinstalliert und
versucht 2.x zu installieren. Da ich mit dem Verzeichnis nicht so
glücklich war, hatte ich den 2.x noch einmal deinstalliert und versucht
2.x noch einmal zu installieren.
Dieser Versuch wird mir nun ständig mit der Meldung "Installation Wizard
interrupted..." quitiert.
Auch 1.3.33 lässt sich nun nicht mehr installieren. Ich habe die Regedit
nach allen Keys die apache enthalten durchsucht und alle Keys gelöscht.
Ich weiß vom Norton Internet Security dass dieser ein ähnliches Problem
hat.
Und wenn ich mich recht erinnere liegt es an einem Key unter
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Welcher das nun im Fall von Apache ist, weiß ich aber
leider nicht.
Kann jemand helfen?

Hallo!
Scheint am fehlgeschlagenen "resolveservername" zu liegen.
Google nach "msi resolveservername" liefert viele gute Treffer...
Einer davon weist darauf hin, daß vielleicht das Auslesen des Maschinennamens
im Zusammenhang mit manchen Netzwerkkarten bzw. bei mehr als 1 Netzwerkkarte
fehlschlägt.
Vielleicht hilft das was...

Da kann man geteilter Meinung sein. Bis jetzt habe ich mit MSI
Installern keine gute Erfahrung gemacht. Wie gesagt hatte ich auch bei
Norton Internet Security das gleiche Problem. Da ich gerade meinen
Rechner sowieso neu aufgesetzt hatte habe ich zum Schluß (weil ich nicht
weiterkam) die Festplatte formatiert und das Betriebssystem neu
installiert. Wenn das eine Besserung sein soll?

2 x MSI-Installer. 2 x Problem. Für mich heißt das 100% Ausfall. Sicher
sollte man vorsichtig sein, etwas zu verallgemeinern. Aber wenn du unter
Google mit dem Suchbegriff "Installation interrupted" suchst, wirst du
staunen, wieviele Ergebnisse du erhälst.

Nachfolgend der Log-File. Den hatte ich auch in der englischsprachigen
Usergroup veröffentlicht. Wie gesagt, ohne das jemand hätte sagen können
"daran liegt es..".

der MSI in Kombination mit dem Produktkey ablegt. Den finde ich
natürlich nicht, wenn ich nach "apache" suche.
Bye the way -> Ich finde es sowieso etwas seltsam anmutend, dass bis
heute seit der Einführung der Registry kein Programm (auch nicht MSI) in
der Lage ist, beim Deinstallieren alle Keys aus der Registry zu löschen,
die bei der Installation angelegt wurden.

Hast du mal msiexec.exe -? aufgerufen?
Oder den Installer mit "/log <Protokolldatei>" gestartet?
Was kommt da raus?
Bei den wenigen Problemen, die ich bisher mit dem MSI hatte, hat das Log
immer alles geklärt.

Und das ist auch gut so.
Der MSI hat viele Vorteile gegenüber anderen Installern, vorrausgesetzt die
MSI-Daten wurden sauber angelegt.
Auch in ein MSI-File kann man Müll packen.
Da ich Apache nur unter debian nutze, kenne ich die MSI-Installier dafür
nicht.

vielen Dank einstweilen an alle, die sich des Problems angenommen
hatten. Leider bekam ich von keiner Seite eine erklärende Antwort, die
das Problem auch wirklich gelöst hätte. Auch nicht von der
englischsprachigen Usergroup.
Ich finde es interessant, wie wenig dieses Problem wahrgenommen wird.
Dass es ein Problem ist, konnte ich auf der Suche im Internet
feststellen. Die Entwicklung scheint dahin zu gehen, dass immer mehr
Software unter Windows mit dem MSI ausgeliefert wird (auch MySQL
inzwischen). Doch der MSI hat offensichtlich ein Problem Software auf
einem Rechner zu installieren, auf dem das Produkt schon einmal
installiert war. Ich vermute, dass es an einem Produkt-Key liegt, der
nicht sauber entfernt wird (aus welchen Gründen auch immer).
Trotzdem vielen Dank.

P.S. Ich habe das Problem so gelöst, dass ich eine ältere Version (ohne
msi) installiert habe. Das ging zwar auch nicht auf Anhieb, denn ich
musste von einer anderen Festplatte starten, als die, die ich bei den
fehlgeschlagenen Versuchen verwendet hatte. Ein Problem bekomme ich
dann, wenn ich auf 2.x gehen möchte. Denn dann kommt wieder die Meldung
"Installation interrupted..."

sondern lediglich entpackst, und die dann sehr zuverlässig laufen.

Registry habe ich komplette nach Einträgen durchsucht. Die allg.

Ich denke das ist der interessante Teil in dem nach einer existierenden
Installation gesucht wird. Den Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Apache2 habe ich
definitiv nicht in der Regedit und auch keinen anderen in diesem Teil
der irgendwie "Apache" enthält.

Ja, die Verzeichnisse habe ich natürlich alle gelöscht. Ein Dienst hatte
ich nicht installiert (bin kein Freund von Diensten da ich lieber selbst
kontrolliere und sehe welche Applikationen laufen).
Für die manuelle Installation habe ich leider keine Anleitung gefunden
(auch nicht bei apache.org). Ich habe zwar von der 1.3.33 Vers. Eine
.exe Datei, doch trotzdem scheint er immer auf den Windows Installer zu
gehen.
Im Anwenderverzeichnis habe ich alle temporären Dateien gelöscht.
Irgendwo muss das Installationsprogramm ja die Info holen, dass eine
Installation bereits gelaufen ist und diese (Stand dieser Info) nicht
komplett abgeschlossen wurde.

Meines Wissens lässt Apache (aufgrund der plattform-
übergreifenden Verfügbarkeit) von solchen Hilfsmitteln
die Finger.
Ich würde prüfen, ob wirklich kein Apache-Dienst mehr
läuft. Eventuell blockiert sonst einer den Namen oder den
Port unter dem du den neuen Apache haben willst.
Hast du mal neu gestartet?
Sind die Ordner der alten Apache-Installationen voll-
ständig gelöscht?
Alles nur Ideen, ich hatte dieses Problem selbst noch nie.
Hoffe, ich konnte dich in die richtige Richtung schubsen.
Notfalls versuch mal, den Apache manuell zu installieren.
Infos dazu müssten im INSTALLATION-Dokument oder
im Web zu finden sein.
