Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: JS2-33
Summary: Separate "core/api" interfaces/exceptions from commons
       Type: Task

     Status: Closed
   Priority: Minor
 Resolution: DUPLICATE

    Project: Jetspeed 2
 Components:
             Components Core
   Versions:
             2.0-a1

   Assignee: Scott T Weaver
   Reporter: Scott T Weaver

    Created: Wed, 19 May 2004 12:32 PM
    Updated: Thu, 20 May 2004 9:04 AM

Description:
There has been concern that the commons source tree is becoming polluted with interfaces that are more of a concern relative lower level operation of Jetspeed then to a "commons" nature.

I the near future we are proposing segregate these core/api artifacts into a source tree seperate from commons.
