The conversion of double to bytes for xs:decimal is incorrect. The code simply ignores a the sign of the value and also any possible exponent.
For example, try the following queries:

-- end query 2 --

Resolution: Fixed
The double to decimal is now handled by the cast functionality and passes the casting tests.
