[jira] [Updated] (ACCUMULO-274) Add descriptions to README.filedata
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-274?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Keith Turner updated ACCUMULO-274:
----------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 1.4.0
Assignee: Billie Rinaldi (was: Adam Fuchs)
Billie and I just a had a discussion about this. There probably needs to be an example map reduce job that ties everything together. The map job could read all file data, compute some simple stat (like a histogram of byte frequency), and store that back in a table. The example could show how to run this example.

> README.filedata says the following:
> {noformat}
> This example is coupled with the dirlist example. See README.dirlist for instructions.
> {noformat}
> I don't see the filedata class describes or references in the README.dirlist file. The FileDataIngest class has a main method but I don't see information about how it would be used. I do see this:
> {noformat}
> * FileDataIngest - Takes a list of files and archives them into Accumulo keyed on the SHA1 hashes of the files.
> {noformat}
> How is filedata.FileDataIngest different from the dirlist.Ingest?
