    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDDS-1467?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16994017#comment-16994017 ]

maobaolong commented on HDDS-1467:
----------------------------------

It make me excited when i know this feature of ozone, in the past 3 years, we managed hadoop configure files by git and spread it by salt, it is hard to operate.

So i really want to use this feature other than ozone, if we can think about all hadoop compoments can use this Centralized Config Management Service, it will make more people excited.

Further more, if we can make this Centralized Config Management Service more common and design to become a new standard config service, it will let more industry use this service, maybe Cloud vendors will support it as a cloud service in the future.

> The main goal is to simplify the configuration requirements for Ozone components.
> The idea is to merge the service discovery information (which is already implemented in a simple form) and merge it with the current ozone-site.xml and make it available for all the services.
> Other services (such as OM, s3g) and client can download the current configuration from SCM and register the host information.
> Please see the attached design doc for more details.
