Invalid keystore format:Please help

I am running Tomcat 4.X on Solaris 
I got a new key from verisign and imported it using
keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias tomcat -file ./cert.cer
Now when I start Tomcat, I get this error in log files

invalid keystore format

Please help.
