[jira] [Created] (HIVE-8092) count(*) returns NULL instead of 0 when result is empty

Matt McCline created HIVE-8092:
----------------------------------

Summary: count(*) returns NULL instead of 0 when result is empty
                 Key: HIVE-8092
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-8092
             Project: Hive
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Matt McCline
            Assignee: Matt McCline
            Priority: Critical

In tez mode when vectorization is enabled, count returns NULL when result is empty.

Expected behavior: It should return 0

count works as expected when vectorization is off
