Resolution: Fixed
Marking this as fixed. The user must set the relevant system property to remove newlines from xml-sec generated xml, which isn't ideal, but this might get fixed in a subsequent version of xml-sec.

parent.appendChild(whitespaceText);
I'll fix this shortly. AFAIK xml-sec adds in newlines for the signature though, so you won't get a newline free security header in every circumstance.
