I see the problem. HandleHolder.closeAndReset() uses a separate lock in getZooKeeper(). All participant in this chain should use the same lock. I'll work on this.

*update* Actually - it's a misuse of ZooKeeper. It looks like Curator is trying to close the ZK handle while in a background handler. In any case, I'll look into this.
