DataStax OpsCenter with Apache Cassandra

Hi,
Is it possible to use DataStax OpsCenter for monitoring Apache distributed Cassandra in Production?
OR
Is it possible to use DataStax OpsCenter if you are not using DataStax Enterprise in production?

ThanksAnuj

For what it's worth, people have mentioned SPM for Cassandra
<https://sematext.com/spm/integrations/cassandra-monitoring/> as one of the
OpsCenter alternatives. I know somebody requested "Number of SSTables per
read" metric to be added to SPM 2 days ago and it was just added today.

(And what's the cost of a DSE license for DSE with Cassandra 3.x/3.5? No
fair telling people they have to wait for DSE 5.0! Or 5.x, whenever
Cassandra 3.4/3.5 will be supported.)

RE: DataStax OpsCenter with Apache Cassandra

Posted by SE...@homedepot.com.
For 2.2 and earlier, there are no license fees. Some features are not available for Apache rings, though (eg., repair service, capacity service, etc.).

For 3.0+, OpsCenter will not monitor open source rings (as I understand it). They decided there was too much effort to develop (and test) OpsCenter to support both DataStax Enterprise and Apache Cassandra. So, the “options” are to buy and use DataStax licenses and software (and use OpsCenter) or to not use OpsCenter for monitoring 3.0+ Apache Cassandra.

Since when did this become a DataStax support email list? If folks have
questions about DataStax products, shouldn't they be contacting the company
directly?
