Removing TAGS
Hi,
When I look at the tags on git, there are a bunch of Citrix specific tags.
https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=cloudstack.git;a=tags
Can we clean those up ?
I don't see why we need a TAG_CLOUDPLATFORM_2.2.15_GA2

Thanks Dave. I think that makes it much clearer. I'm +1 on it, especially given that it got pushed in this year.

This really isn't 'our' history though. Most of the tags Sebastien
referred to came in on January 8th[1]. When we moved to the ASF, we
removed the vast majority of tags and branches as they simply didn't
have a lot of context here, and increased the already-bewildering
confusion most people experienced.

I am actually -1 on any history falsification or destruction. I have
no interest in this particular history but if citrix doesn't mind us
seeing it we should leave it as is.

Sebastien,
It's a -0 for me. If it's important to do, sure.

That's true they don't cost a thing, but anyone looking at the tags and not knowing the history will get confused between cloudstack and cloudplaftorm and will get confused between version numbers.
I actually think it's almost a case of branding and that we need to protect the cloudstack brand. At the very least, if you want to keep the tags we should rename them to avoid confusion.

What does it achieve? Tags don't cost anything. The code came from Citrix. Removing the TAGS is not going to take that away.
I like having git metadata in case I need to go find something really old or understand where the code made its fork. It doesn't happen often but I do like having the information if I need it.

Please do - obviously retain anything that is tied to an ACS release;
but it's a version control system - delete tags boldly. :)
