REL_2_BRANCH created.

All fixes to go into REL_2_BRANCH unless they are likely to decrease stability.

New functionality to go into HEAD (extra formula support might be better 
off into the branch though).

Any stability work you might be able to contribute to REL_2_BRANCH would be 
great.  Feel free to get funky with the trunk.
