[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-4429) MAVEN_RC_SKIP maybe should be
supplied to Maven invocations
Laird Nelson created NETBEANS-4429:
--------------------------------------
Summary: MAVEN_RC_SKIP maybe should be supplied to Maven invocations
Key: NETBEANS-4429
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-4429
Project: NetBeans
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: java - Editor
Affects Versions: 12.0
Reporter: Laird Nelson
(This is weirdly enough a followup to NETBEANS-4073.)
Because Maven always reads a {{~/.mavenrc}} file before executing, and because often users put {{JAVA_HOME}} settings in there, it is possible even in the absence of toolchains for a different JVM to be used by NetBeans to execute Maven from the one it uses.
The result is that surprisingly the Java editor can report syntax errors while Clean and Build succeeds just fine.
This is not obviously a bug, but maybe NetBeans should offer some option or preference for its global Maven execution that would set the {{MAVEN_SKIP_RC}} environment variable when it executes Maven. Then users could decide whether or not to have it consulted.
