Virtual hosting is when a single mail host accepts mail for multiple domains. Unlike HTTP with its 'host' header feature IMAP/POP3 have no native way of specifying which domain a user belongs too. As such virtual hosting is done using various hacks on other mail servers. For example, often the username needs to be specified as 'joe@bloggs.com' rather than plain 'joe' in an IMAP/POP3 virtual hosting scheme. James doesn't support these virtual hacks right now..
