   1. It's not clear to me why specifically this is needed. Direct links to both Classic and Artemis releases are available just a bit further down the page, and NMS and CMS release links are very clearly visible on their respective component pages. The bit summarizing the contents of the release (i.e. bugs, dependencies, & enhancements) is nice. Perhaps we should just add those details to the existing release pages.
   2. In terms of screen real-estate and attention, this is a pretty significant change to the main page. I'm not sure it makes sense for this news feed to occupy such a prominent position. Maybe a new top-level "News" menu item should be added and all these details could go there.
