Synopsis: mod_isapi.c: Apache frees DLLs after use; insufficient Windows error messages

State-Changed-From-To: suspended-closed
State-Changed-By: wrowe
State-Changed-When: Mon Oct 16 23:08:53 PDT 2000
State-Changed-Why:

1. The option to cache an isapi .dll has been added to the
2.0-dev tree, and was released as Apache 2.0a7 as source.
2. The growing handles are fixed in both 1.3.14 and 2.0a7.
MS is very picky about the LoadLibrary, in that it must
use '\' characters (even documented as such) and all of
these errors were corrected in the Apache/Win32 dso code.
3. Dynamic caching can only be considered if mutexes are
added and some lru logic is put in place. This is not
likely to happen, although a patch to the current tree
would certainly be welcome (please start a new thread
   on that single issue.)
4. The error reporting should be far better under 1.3.14 and
2.0a7, with new options to control the level of detail.

Thanks for your report, your proposal, and interest in the
Apache httpd project!
