What we have for actually publishing to maven makes things much better. I think we should at least give it one real release.

The way we will do real releases now that stack did all of the maven goodness (with hadoop version in the hbase version string), is very different from what was there just a couple of weeks ago.  The downstream projects have reported that it works well for them and testing it does produce a much easier story than previously (especially if it's hbase-client only).
