Maven - Resume Mode

Is it possible to use the reactor to have maven pick up from the last
point of failure ? 

 

I have a rather length build (multiple projects), and would like to have
feature when running the goal again will resume from the point of last
failure. Of course, a feature that would override this would have to
also exist.

 

I suppose I can create a postGoal to create a file, and a preGaol to
check it... but how will this information be passed into the reactor ...
