[jira] [Commented] (TS-3176) Some DNS stats don't persist through restart.

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-3176?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14235964#comment-14235964 ]

Adam W. Dace commented on TS-3176:
----------------------------------

Well, C++ still isn't my cup of tea. But dang nabbit, I have a patch...and it appears to work. :-)

I'm attaching the "git diff" output between the 5.2.x branch and my changes.

P.S. This does have a very small enhancement bundled in. Since "DNS Time" isn't available as a statistic,
I replaced it with "DNS Entry"(i.e. HostDB entry count). Nothing exciting, but might come in handy for those
running ATS as a forward-only cache.

> I can't speak for all of these, but I've noticed over time when viewing stats through traffic_top the "DNS lookup" stat will happily persist through a restart but at the very least "DNS hits" and the "DNS Hit" percentage will not.
> I'm not really sure what the scoop with "DNS Time" is...for me it's always 0.0.
> Please let me know if there's any testing I can do to help out, I'd offer up a patch but C++ just isn't my cup of tea.
