Apache does not write to error-log

Summary: Apache does not write to error-log
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.39
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: FreeBSD
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: All
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: info@orangexl.com

On a few occassions, Apache does not write errors to the error-log, while they
are in the access-log. The errors that are logged in the error-log also show a
time difference of up to 10 seconds with the access-log.
Latest version of Cronlog is used for log-file rotation. Machine is setup with
a small number of virtual hosts, server activity is low/minimal.
