For ec2-describe-images SOAP call made using ec2-api-tool, the following output is obtained,
Unexpected error:
  java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.amazon.aes.webservices.client.Jec2.describeImages(Jec2.java:535)
    at com.amazon.aes.webservices.client.cmd.DescribeImages.invokeOnline(DescribeImages.java:157)
    at com.amazon.aes.webservices.client.cmd.BaseCmd.invoke(BaseCmd.java:795)
    at com.amazon.aes.webservices.client.cmd.DescribeImages.main(DescribeImages.java:181)

A corresponding error is seen for every EC2 SOAP call.
No errors are found in the logs.
This issue is only observed in a developer setup.
