Problem in PointBase installation

We are facing problems in installation of PointBase in our linux server
(linux6.2, JDK 1.1.8). 

We unzipped the file pbserver40reu.zip and while installation got the
following message:

[balu@pythagorus balu]$ ./pbserver40re.bin 
Preparing to install...
Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException.

We are not able to install because of this problem. Please help.
