[jira] [Created] (CAMEL-25381) camel-jbang - camel validate normalize should support Kamelet files
Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25381:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-jbang - camel validate normalize should support Kamelet files
Key: CAMEL-25381
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25381
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: camel-jbang
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Fix For: 4.24.0
camel validate normalize on a Kamelet file (for example timer-source.kamelet.yaml from camel-kamelets) fails with only:
{noformat}ERROR: Error normalizing files{noformat}
The command runs the files and dumps the routes, and a Kamelet is a route template, so nothing is dumped. It is the command the compact notation warning recommends, and it is what the shipped Kamelets need to be written in canonical YAML DSL.
Proposal: for a kind: Kamelet file, normalize spec.template (and its beans) and keep the rest of the Kamelet document (definition, metadata, dependencies) as it is. When normalizing fails, say why. Then camel-kamelets can normalize its catalog and check it in CI.
