Hi again and FYI,

A nice to have for a new version are up to date dependencies.

The project is not using the current version of HttpCore 4 which is in maintenance mode only. HttpCore 5 has been out for a while now but would require code changes.

Also out of date FYI: JUnit, Jetty and JAXB. Jetty has CVEs (high, medium, and low rated) you could avoid by using the current version of 9.x.

Thanks for the RC! :-)
Gary

I built Juneau locally and pointed my project to 9.0.0 but I get a bunch of compile errors which I guess is ok for a new major version. Where is the migration guide (if there is one) so I can port and test?

Gary has good points. We should try to upgrade dependencies where
possible before for a major release. I think it's important to
maintain Java 8 compatibility though.

I'll also work on a migration guide.

I'll cancel this vote.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Juneau 9.0.0 RC2

Posted by Gary Gregory <ga...@gmail.com>.
Hi again and FYI,

A nice to have for a new version are up to date dependencies.

The project is not using the current version of HttpCore 4 which is in
maintenance mode only. HttpCore 5 has been out for a while now but would
require code changes.

Also out of date FYI: JUnit, Jetty and JAXB. Jetty has CVEs (high, medium,
and low rated) you could avoid by using the current version of 9.x.

Thanks for the RC! :-)

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Juneau 9.0.0 RC2

Posted by Gary Gregory <ga...@gmail.com>.
Hi All,

I built Juneau locally and pointed my project to 9.0.0 but I get a bunch of
compile errors which I guess is ok for a new major version. Where is the
migration guide (if there is one) so I can port and test?

TY!
Gary
