v2.3 beta

I have posted a build on people.apache.org/~noel/james. I will +1 it.
Please review and vote. If it is approved, someone can move it to proper
location, or I'll do it by Thursday.

FWIW, Stefano is wrong when he asserts that I am the only one who can sign
releases. I am simply the only one who does. Danny, myself, and shortly
Norman are all in the ASF WoT. I look forward to others doing so, and will
be happy to post the trivial shell scripts I use for releases.

We have an in progress vote-like mail about things we want in the next
beta release and we should apply the changes as agreed (and finish the
voting) before.
The thread title is '"votes" for next 2.3 release'.

I don't know how Henk gets his list of keys. Danny's key, 0x9BB69067, is in
the ASF WoT, as you can see from looking at pgp.mit.edu, and was signed by
me on July 21, 2005. And, ironically, his key is signed by Henk, too. :-)
Perhaps his public key needs to be in ~/.pgpkey so that it gets picked up
even if there are no signed releases using it.

<<shrug>> I can't help what people tell you.

I participate in the ASF key signing parties to help ensure that everyone
has a verified signed key.

However, I do not believe that it has been a significant contributor to
delay. Not having an agreement to release has been, but once we have an
agreement, I can cut a signed release within 3 minutes of seeing the vote,
not including upload time. The mechanics of release are easy. The rest ...
:-)

Well, to say it all I don't think I was *wrong*: this page, say it is
updated today and it doesn't list anyone but you
http://people.apache.org/~henkp/trust/apache.html
Furthermore, when I asked about this in past everyone agreed that you
was the only one with a signed key.

I'm happy that now Danny and Norman have been added to the WoT, and I
hope that sooner or later everyone of us will have a signed key, so this
will not be a delaying issue anymore.

Thank you,
Stefano

I completed it from Galway. Internet connection here seems to be excellent.

Please review.

At least I am trying to, but the upload is going very slowly and I'm going
to sleep. Hopefully, it will upload by morning.
