Language Alphabet Set

Hi
I want to get the alphabet of a language based on the
locale. How can I do that? I have to display an index
structure based on the locale. So I need alphabet of
the particular locale which comes in the request.
Any help regarding this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Junta

Hi John,
put the alphabet in ApplicationResources.properties as a string
alphabet=ABCD...Z

MessageResources.getMessageResources("com.mycompany.mypackage.Messages");
Locale locale = ...from the session...
String message = messages.getMessage(locale, "alphabet");

I bet you were looking for an easier way....
Keith.

John,

The java.lang.Character class has an inner class called UnicodeBlock, this
contains a number of UnicodeBlock constants that represent various subsets
of the unicode character table for various world alphabets. The only method
in UnicodeBlock checks to see if a Char is in one of these alphabets, to do
this it must check against some internal list... This leads me to believe
that if you look at the source for this class, you'll find your list of
alphabets. It doesn't like like there is a programmatic way of getting this
info from the java framework, there maybe some third-party code somewhere
but I haven't heard of any.

Hope this helps.
Chris.
